Preparing & Priming is the first step to paint…

PrimingBLACK

I finally decided that I had too many miniatures showing bare metal. I find it always easier to start painting when you have primed miniatures. When I get the urge to paint, it will be easy to pop open a color I like and slap it over the fig-of-the-moment! I primed an assortment of minis. Many of them are for Mordheim - Darkness Campaign: cultists, sisters, orcs, skavens, dark elf, barrels, chests, weapons, etc. I also threw in the lot a few futuristic figs: 3 catachan soldiers and one warzone mutant chronicles “Heavy gunner” (?).

Darkness in Glücksheim - Turn 1 results

Each campaign turn consists of two battles for each warband. Battle #1 is the band trying to gain control of a new territory. Battle #2 is the band trying to stop another band from gaining control of a new territory.

Battle 1a (Reiklanders VS. Marienburgers) - Victory for the rich kids of Marienburg! A unbelievable electrical storm (D66 weather conditions = 66!) drove the game. Mordheim Campaign begins!

Table Turn 0 Ostlanders Hiding!

We were missing a player so we did not start officially the Darkness in Glücksheim campaign. We played a multiplayer game with the scenario “Spawn Hunting“. Marienburgers split in two to go both after the Spawn (and the Ostlanders) and after the Adventurers. This last band managed to scare other bands with their fireball-throwing wizard! Ostlanders had plenty to worry about as the Spawn kept attacking them when it was not wandering randomly on the table. It was decided (retroactively) that the game was a draw between the Adventurers and the Marienburgers… The Reiklanders should join the fray during next game! Check out warbands standings.

Bloodbowl pitch with lines

BB pitch with linesCustom line painter!

I made some progress on my BB pitch. You can see lines delimiting the play zones on the picture below. I made this little painting tool from a dremel polishing bit to paint my lines. It turns out okay. After taking these pictures, I drybrushed the entire board with a light grey and started putting ballast & scatter material around the field. More pictures in a few days (if I don’t get sidetracked!)…
